Raw Art

Slithering snakes was the title for today's Raw Art workshop.
Students worked in groups to create some stunning snakes using paint, charcoal, chalk and collage.

Year 2 scientists were busy investigating which binding agent mixes with the ochre to make the best paint.

Year 2 Assembly

THE PRODIGAL SON
Students did a fabulous job presenting the story of the Prodigal Son to the school community during this morning's assembly.
They spoke beautifully and shared the message of  Love, being Sorry and asking for Forgiveness.

Mixing Materials

The Science topic for this term is "Mixing Materials".
Today we made play dough. The materials that were mixed together cannot be retrieved from the play dough.

The recipe we used was:

1 tablespoon of plain flour
2 teaspoons of salt
coloured water (food colouring in water)

We mixed the flour and the salt.
We coloured the water with food colouring.
Then we added the coloured water to the flour and salt mixture, just a little bit at a time.

Lest We Forget

Students wrote explanations of some of the symbols we associate with Anzac Day.  Their sentences were simple but the message was clear.
The soldiers are on display on the notice board in the walkway to the Early Years classrooms.

Anzac Day

With Anzac Day next Tuesday, we have spent time this week reflecting on the importance of Anzac Day as a special day to remember those soldiers who have served our country.
Students created some impressive art work that captures the solemnity of Anzac Day.
